I have 3D voxel map of irregular geometry containing several materials. I’m looking for a way to generate a smooth (or relatively smooth) interface between the materials. Using mesh based geometry I was able to create the attached cross section. It does need to be hexahedral elements for the stress analysis.

could you please share your current geometry and maybe draw a picture how smooth your transition should be.
I guess you want to be able to define a new material to the interface?
Ideally the surface would be something like this. Defining a new material at the interface is not the ideal direction, but it might be needed. The main issue is how to get from voxels to a mesh suitable for predicting stresses.
