Hi, I’m very new to Cubit and CAD/meshing in general, so I apologise if this is quite a basic question. I have a relatively complex geometry that I’m trying to make simpler by uniting some of the volumes together that will be of the same material in the simulation. I can successfully unite the volumes, and do imprints/merges such that the geometry meshes successfully. However, the surfaces do not unite into one surface. I have attached an image showing what I mean, highlighted in yellow is the single united volume, but you can see that there are still the outlines of the individual volumes, and the surfaces are still separate. How do I get these surfaces to unite?
Hi @JasperBurvill,
could you share the geometry?
Normally removing the unnecessary surface should be suffient.
Usually when you got different volumes that should consist of the same material you add them to the same block (element set) and define a material for this block. There is no need to unite volumes when they are already imprinted and merged as they can be assigned to the same block.
