I’m attempting to import an ExodusII file from my simulation at a given time stamp, remove some of the volumes, and restart as a unique problem. Unfortunately, when I import I’m seeing negative volumes in the calculated mesh volume field. This is caries through to my new problem and causes errors. Are there any fixes for this issue?

Are you able to provide us with an example Exodus file that we can read in?
A negative volume for an element indicates that the element is inverted. Is it possible that you are at a point in your simulation where some elements have been deformed to the point where the elements have become inverted? You might check for elements with a negative Jacobian.
Thanks for your reply. Due to the nature of the simulation, there should be no inverted elements in the mesh at the time step I am investigating.
I will look into generating an example file that reproduces the issue and send it over as soon as I can.
