Meshing fails with complex stl geometry

First things first, I just started using Coreform Cubit, so I am an absolute beginner. I hope my problem is trivial and easy to solve.

I want to mesh a somewhat complex stl geometry, a porous beam:

When trying to mesh it with tet elements I get the following error messages:

Matching intervals successful.

Although some entities failed to mesh, Cubit will log the command in the journal file anyway, for future use.
Finished Command: mesh volume 1

I tried searching for small features and removing them, I did a find overlap check (which did not return any overlaps) and I tried simplifying and remeshing the original stl geometry. All so far without any success.

I would be glad for any tips on how to mesh this geometry.

Hi @FritzPeppone,
have you already taken a look at the tutorials and training material on our website?
It is a good invested time to get into the cubit workflow.

You didn’t share the geometry, so the first thing you could try is to run sculpt and see if it can be meshed.
