Import stp to cubit issue

I exported a design from AutoCAD as a .stp (STEP) file that contains 17 solid volumes. However, when I import it into Coreform Cubit, only 15 volumes appear. I also see two black regions in the model that I can’t select or interact with — it seems they didn’t import as valid volumes.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Imported using import step "filename.stp" heal
  • Checked geometry count with list volume and list body
  • Attempted to heal geometry all and stitch surfaces all tolerance 1e-6

Still, those two missing parts remain black and non-selectable.

Has anyone encountered this is

sue before? Could it be caused by open surfaces or non-manifold geometry from AutoCAD? And is there a recommended workflow or setting to ensure all solids import correctly as volumes in Cubit?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @fakhar,
could you please share the step file. I would like to take a closer look.
