Error running sculpt

Cubit Version: 20.2
Platform: Windows 10

Issue
I have just downloaded and installed Cubit 20.2 on Windows 10, and was hoping to test the new sculpt tool which appears to be available. When trying to run sculpt, however, I receive the following error:

ERROR: ERROR: Unable to open sculpt_parallel.diatom for writing
ERROR: Command Failed.

Am I missing something? Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hello @idclifford,

Thanks for your post. This is a known unintended issue - we are preparing a hot fix to make the Sculpt functionality available as soon as possible and will let you know as soon as we know when this will be.

Hello @gvernon,

Have there been any updates made for this? I’m currently working a problem that could be made quite easy with the sculpt tool; however, I’m hitting the same error as above. Same OS and version of Cubit, as well.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @tschlitt,

Yes, we fixed this issue in Coreform Cubit 2021.4, which you can download from our public-downloads webpage: https://coreform.com/products/downloads/

Also, be sure that you set your current working directory to a user-writable location:

or via command line:

cd (will set your user directory as the current directory), or:
cd /path/to/custom/directory
