Coreform Cubit2021.3 on Windows

From a fresh install of Coreform Cubit 2021.3 or 2020.1 on Windows, I get a bizarre empty canvas

Multiple restarts, and I get the same thing, no warnings were present during install and activation went fine.

Windows 10 Home, and ill confirm the patch level soon

Please open up a terminal and execute the following commands:

cd "C:\Program Files\Coreform Cubit 2021.3\bin"
set CUBIT_VERBOSE=5
coreform_cubit.com

Please paste all the output here. This probably has to do with your graphics card. Either Cubit is defaulting to integrated graphics instead of the dedicated graphics card, or you need to update your graphics card drivers.

@makeclean Thanks for your report, that helped us find a bug I’m fixing right now. There should be a development build available for you to test with the fix soon.

@makeclean, the latest development build at https://coreform.com/products/downloads has a fix for the Log init failed error. Let me know if you see that again or if Coreform Cubit fails to start up when you run the executable.

As for the The specified procedure could not be found error, that likely means that the Windows runtime is either lacking or corrupted. Our binaries rely on msvcp140.dll, vcruntime140_1.dll and vcruntime140.dll, which we ship with the application in the bin directory. They also rely on C:\Windows\System32\ucrtbase.dll and C:\Windows\System32\kernel32.dll. Are other applications working on this machine? Are all those dll files in the right directories and are they in working order? I’m also on Windows 10 Home, version 10.0.19041, and Coreform Cubit starts fine out of the box.

@makeclean We usually have problems with this on Linux with people setting up custom LD_LIBRARY_PATH environments that have other libraries that conflict with ours. It would seem that somewhere in your PATH environment variable there’s a directory that has libraries that are named the same as some of our dependent libraries but they’re a different version.
