License management has changed
Coreform Cubit 2025.8 is now released. This release includes feature improvements and modernized icons, as well as a transition to a new licensing portal that makes it easier to manage your Coreform Cubit licenses. This portal is now the default for Coreform Cubit licensing. Step-by-step access instructions are here.
With 2025.8, you will no longer need a product key to activate your license. You will simply sign in to Coreform Cubit using your Coreform email and password. You can find the download for v 2025.8 on your user account page.
Your account username/email and password are the same
Your current active license email and password have been transferred to the new accounts portal, so you can sign in the same way you always have.
Easier License Sharing with Cloud-Hosted Licenses
Cloud-hosted licenses will be the default for new Coreform licenses to let you and your team seamlessly share licenses in a self-managed environment—no IT support needed! An internet connection is required to log in, but your license will stay active even if you temporarily lose connectivity.
Flexibility with Locally-Hosted Licenses
If you currently have a locally-hosted Coreform Cubit floating license, it will continue to work, and Coreform will continue to support this in the future. Contact us if you would like us to switch your locally-hosted license to a cloud-hosted license.
Streamlined Academic Access
If you’re part of an academic institution, you will be able to instantly access a free academic trial using your academic email address. Within your Coreform account, you will be able to easily purchase new licenses with a credit card.
New Coreform Cubit Associate Licenses
The free Coreform Cubit Learn program will evolve into the Associate License program. This free, non-commercial license (with a 50,000-element export limit) is perfect for universities, open-source simulation projects, and other qualifying groups. Interested? Email us to apply for access codes or fill out the form here.
Transition Away From Node-Locked Licenses
To streamline our offerings, we will no longer sell node-locked licenses. Existing node-locked licenses will still work with the new system.
Other updates in 2025.8
Improved, modernized buttons and icons
Coreform Cubit has a new look! When you download the latest version 2025.8, you will notice a sleeker, more modern look. Most of our icons have been updated and replaced with more modern and intuitive versions. The placement and function of those icons have not changed.
Fundamental upgrades
Coreform Cubit’s user interface framework has been upgraded to Qt6, providing better support for modern desktops. The primary triangle and tetrahedral mesher in Coreform Cubit has been updated to MeshGems 2.15. This upgrade comes with more robustness, better quality elements, and improved capabilities.
The geometry healing operation has been improved, but the change may affect your workflows. It is possible that entity ids may change during healing, and journal files using the old healing operation may break. Read more here.
