Hi all, I’m working on mesh generation on San Andreas Fault System for a dynamic rupture simulation. Currently I have 6 fault traces, which are non-planar and intersecting, I’m new to CUBIT and will like to ask for a robust workflow to handle the problem, below is what I have tried, errors encountered, and input files, I would appreciate any suggestions or guide to find the right tools in CUBIT to solve the issues, also ways to improve mesh quality and minimum element length (for CFL condition stability), thanks a lot!
Cubit version: 2026.5 (Commercial Trial) Issue: Volume tet meshing fails at fault-fault intersection point (533227, 3759673, −4947) regardless of constraint settings or surgical surface separation. Surface tri-meshing succeeds but volume tet generation reports (-9008480): Cannot insert required entities due to edge-tri intersection at this point.
