Cannot open Coreform-Cubit-2022.4 on MacOS 10.15.7

Hello,
I just downloaded the latest Mac version of cubit, did the command line changes:
sudo mkdir “/Library/Application Support/Reprise”
sudo chmod 777 “/Library/Application Support/Reprise”
and I tried to use both my 30-day free trial license or the cubit learn license. I am currently trying this product out to decide if I will purchase a license. However, the product doesn’t even open for me! I changed the security setting in “Settings” as well (that prevent opening apps from unknown developers). But when ever I open CUBIT, the icon flashes for a second on my dock and then just disappears. Nothing opens and I get a system message that only says CUBIT quitted unexpectedly. There are lots of details for this error for which I attached the beginning:

Hi @axelwang, sorry for your trouble. It’s likely that Coreform Cubit is conflicting with other applications that already exist on your system, like another installation of Qt or something similar.

Open up a terminal window, execute the following commands, and report the full output please:

export CUBIT_VERBOSE=5
/Applications/Coreform-Cubit-2022.4.app/Contents/MacOS/Coreform-Cubit-2022.4

Hey Scot,
Thanks for your help! I tried your commands and the output is below.
Your commands did open up a CUBIT window and it stayed there. However, after I closed it and try launching CUBIT again from clicking on the icon, again the initialization window just flashed for a second and disappeared, I am receiving the same system error as mentioned in my original post.

Moreover, I am unable to import the python package. I will be interested in using CUBIT just from python scripts.

We’ve reproduced the error internally, and we’re investigating it, thanks for the report. As for the Python import, have you tried following the instructions on this page?

Hey Scot,
Thanks for looking into this issue, and I look forward to hearing back a solution as soon as possible!
I just tried to follow the steps in the link you provided to import the python package. But when I reached “import cubit”, I still get “ModuleNotFoundError: No module named ‘cubit’”. This really makes me think that somehow cubit is not installed properly on my machine.

Can you post your Python script here? It’s important to add the Coreform-Cubit-2022.4.app/Contents/MacOS directory to sys.path. It’s also recommended to use the version of python that ships with Cubit, it’s at /Applications/Coreform-Cubit-2022.4.app/Contents/MacOS/python3/Python.framework/Versions/3.9/bin/python3. That way it makes sure that all libraries loaded are compatible with Cubit.

We now have a fix for the crash when opening Coreform Cubit from Finder, please go to Coreform Product Downloads and download the latest Development Build for Mac.

You should append the full, absolute path to the Contents/MacOS folder to sys.path. So that would be /Applications/Coreform-Cubit-2022.4.app/Contents/MacOS.
