Can you sweep a virtual surface (meshed) to create a volume?

Hi,

I wish to use virtual geometry to control meshing sequence on a surface;
Here is what I did:

  1. Created a real rectangle surface.
  2. Partitioned that surface using virtual geometry. See attached image.
  3. Meshed two virtual geometry surfaces.
  4. I want to sweep the virtual geometry surfaces to create a rectangle prism of the meshed pattern but I get a error like this:

Command: sweep surface 2 perpendicular distance 2 include_mesh
ERROR:
Unable to sweep sheet body of multiple faces.

Command: sweep surface 1 perpendicular distance 2 include_mesh
ERROR:
Unable to sweep sheet body of multiple faces.

Note: It seems that I cannot sweep meshed virtual surfaces. I was able to sweep a real meshed surface into a meshed rectangular prism.

Does Trelis allow me to do what I want? That is, partition real surface into virtual surfaces; mesh the virtual surfaces then sweep those surfaces to create a volume including mesh.

Thanks for you time,

It looks like Trelis won’t allow you to sweep a sheet body of multiple surfaces. You might try sweeping the surface and then partitioning or splitting.
