Best way to number/renumber nodes so to minimize bandwidth

Hi,

Is there a way to renumber meshed volumes such that for a particular meshed volume the node numbers are close consecutively to each other? This will minimize the bandwidth of the global stiffness matrix when doing FEM analysis.

Does the command compress all do this?

You can use the renumber command. For example,

renumber node all in Volume 1 start_id 1 uniqueids
